San Francisco is one of the most gorgeous cities in the world and one of my favorite places to visit. When Roop and Mandeep told me that they wanted to do their engagement photos there, I could barely hold in my excitement. On the scheduled day of the photoshoot, as I was waiting in a Starbucks with my assistant for the day Olga to meet with my new friends and clients to carpool together to San Francisco, the rare California rain clouds came out of their hiding and started pouring the much needed water that Sacramento has been praying for. We couldn't reschedule the shoot because that was the only rare free weekend for me and for the couple, so we decided to still go ahead and face the unpredictable weather of San Francisco. The drive to San Francisco was a long one and a wet one. As we were driving and listening to Indian music, I honestly was brainstorming and trying to think of places with roofs where we can hide from the rain. With all the time that was put into Roop's traditional outfit, hair and makeup, we definitely couldn't just walk out and get everything wet right away. As we parked in Golden Gate Park, we took out our umbrellas and I started shooting the gorgeous couple under the roof of the Music Concourse in San Francisco's beautiful Golden Gate Park. I started shooting playful photos to loosen them up when all of a sudden the rain calmed down and we breathed a sigh of relief. That's when we put down our umbrellas, lifted our spirits and created some amazing photos with this gorgeous couple. ...

Photographing weddings of past friends is always special because you get to remember the good old days you had in the past. Faythe went to Albert Einstein Middle School and West Campus High School with my brother Vitaliy and I in the early 2000's and we were all good friends. When she called us and told us that she was getting married in Fresno, we were happy that she thought to invite us to her wedding. But that is not exactly why she called. She told us that she has been following our artistic work after high school, fell in love with our work and wanted to hire us to photograph and film her wedding. We were very excited to hear that we would not only be guests at her wedding, but would have the opportunity to tell of her wedding day through photos and a beautiful wedding film (Fresno wedding photography). Here is how her and Josh's beautiful wedding day went. Enjoy the photos!...

House of Bread Christian Church Water Baptism 2013 | Recap Film As the annual water baptism for my church approached, I really wanted to produce a film which would not just be a recap of the event, but would make the viewer feel what was felt on that special day for our church. My brother, a couple of our friends from church and I started that Saturday by filming a timelapse of Lake Natoma at 5:30 in the morning...

As passionate as I am about Aperina Studios and wedding photography, I also love to film personal projects sometimes. I have done several projects for various churches but my biggest project happens every year during spring break when I go to a week-long missionary trip to Mexicali with Bayside Church. I have built great relations with many of the Bayside pastors and especially their media personel and it is always a pleasure working with passionate men of God and also great artists like Darren Takegami, Steve Batz, Brian Oxenham and Justin Boatman. I have been going to Mexicali with Bayside Church for three years and this year we had 1,000 people caravan in 160 minivans and trucks to Mexicali, Mexico to serve the people and make an impact. This "little army" of teenagers, college students and adults built 9 homes, served the poor by giving them food, encouraged many pastors and loved on thousands of little ninos. They spent their spring break doing what Jesus would do! I was honored to have witnessed and filmed the impact that was made in Mexico that weekend. All glory be to God....

Summers are crazy for us wedding photographers!! Mine was no different. I've been so busy lately with photographing many gorgeous wedding, doing different photo shoots and other little projects, but it's about time to update our blog with some new photos from an amazing wedding I did about a week ago. I photographed Vitaly and Sveta's gorgeous wedding on September 18 right after shooting another wedding the day before. With formated cards, fresh batteries, and a Rockstar energy drink the next morning I set out to the grooms house with an amazing feeling. I was really excited to shoot the wedding of my new friends but also as excited to use my tilt-shift lens. That Saturday was just one of those days where you just don't know where the ideas keep coming from. Vitaly, the groom, recently came to America and I thought that it would become an issue with the different styles but I was amazed at the modern mentality he had. They were both very stylish and knew how to pose, requiring only a little bit of correcting from my side. The engagement session was amazing, the wedding was gorgeous and very lovely, and the second-day-shoot (SDS) we did in San Francisco was very beautiful and sexy. This blog post tells the story of their wedding day and includes my favorite photos from each of the three photo shoots I did for this amazing couple. Enjoy...

I photographed Justin & Annmarie's wedding two days before their SDS. Their wedding was located on a beautiful golf course. It was an amazing and fun wedding with lots of dancing and some emotional moments. We ended the evening with a couple amazing silhouette shots on the golf course with the beautiful purple sunset in the background. I love photographing weddings but I love photographing second-day-shoots even more. The reason for this is that I, as the photographer, am in charge of the whole day. I love control!! I don't abuse it, but use it to set up amazing shots using the time I need and the places I think will look amazing...

Photographing Don and Melissa's 'Trash The Dress" (second day) photo session was more like going on a picnic. We enjoyed the very sunny and warm Sunday afternoon walking around the beautiful Bogle Vineyards in Clarksburg, CA and some surrounding locations. It was a really laid back wedding photoshoot where I just did my thing while the newlyweds were sipping on wine and listening to my instructions. Although the intense California sun did not provide the ideal photographing conditions, we enjoyed the day a lot while producing amazing photos, which will soon be hanging all over the walls of their cozy home. Shooting Don and Melissa's wedding and "TTD' session made us really good friends and made them extremely comfortable with me as a photographer. This is something I am striving to do with every client of mine. I am proud to present some of my favorite shots from yesterday's lovely session....

One year ago, on January 14, 2010 my brother Vitaliy and I went to the administrative offices in downtown Sacramento, filled out a bunch of paperwork and made our dream come true. We have both been doing photography and cinema for years before, but we always talked about opening up a studio together. Aperina Studios was our dream come true. We always talked about the company and how it would function but we never imagined it to be as successful and notable as it is today. God has truly blessed us with amazing talents and helped us develop Aperina Studios into one of the most creative and sought after photo and cinema companies among the Slavic community in the west coast. We truly want to thank all those young, beautiful couples that have trusted our brand new company with capturing their most exciting day of their lives. As a new company starting up in a horrible economic atmosphere, we also had financial fears, but we believed that we could make Aperina Studios happen and here we are. In the spring of 2010, Aperina Studios has made the decision to continue the Inquestic tradition of creativity by acquiring all Inquestic website design studio equipment and folding graphic and web design into our extensive list of services. In addition, we welcomed Igor Sagan to our team. Igor has been a web programmer and graphic designer for Inquestic Design for the past three years. His capabilities are a perfect match to join the talented Aperina Studios’ team. Aperina Studios - so what does it mean?. Many people ask us of how we came up with that name. It's completely made up, but we did take the “aper-“ root from aperture. Having a unique name, we worked all year on creating our identity and expanding our name using various networking techniques. One big positive boom to our company came before our official birthday. We filmed various comical video clips for Bethany Slavic Missionary Church for their New Year 2010 celebration. Below is one of the most popular clips. Once the videos were posted onto our blog, our website...
