Ricky, the groom, wanted to surprise his wedding guests with an epic dance performance at his wedding reception. His plan was to join his old dance team from UC Irvine during their dance performance. He practiced the dance many times and perfected it. Especially the ended with this very good friend. At the reception, everything was going to plan. But to everyone's surprise, including the groom's, Preeti, the bride, is pulled into the dance by his friend and takes over his part of the dance performance from that point. You can see Ricky being taken back and being surprised, but completely enjoying the moment and continue dancing with his wife. What an EPIC moment and a surprise for the groom! Toward the end, everyone joined in a Flash Mob style dance and officially kicked off the dancing for the night. It was evident that the wedding guests enjoyed themselves as they danced the night away. Enjoy this choreographed Indian dance at this amazing Indian Wedding at the Greengate Ranch in San Luis Obispo, CA....

Harman and Navroop Indian Wedding was filled with a lot of laughter, fun, smoke bombs and even crying. But it was definitely a week that we enjoyed capturing amazing footage from this unforgettable Indian Wedding. To wrap up the many days of celebrations, we created this Same Day Edit that we premiered on their wedding reception. The most humbling and inspiring moment is watching the couple and guests enjoy the timeless memories we captured just moments before. Seeing the endless smiles, and sometimes even sweet tears, from the family members, reminds me why we do what we do as wedding cinematographers. Both the bride and groom were beaming as they watched the film we put together. The wedding couple, Harman and Navroop, were simply enjoyable to work with. Both were super sweet to us as well and treated us like family. Not only were they beautiful and natural in front of the cameras, they completely trusted us to capture a day that they will cherish for the rest of their life together. We, as a Bay Area Wedding Cinematography team, were honored to be part of their Indian wedding at the Elk Grove Sikh Temple. Enjoy Harman and Navroop’s Indian Wedding Same Day Edit. ...

Every love story starts with a unique beginning. Whether it is an accidental meeting or a forced blind date, the beginning marks the start of how two people fall in love. In this case, after a busy work week and another late night ahead, Sahil wasn’t too eager about going to a wine tasting on December 6, 2014 but his friend gave him the extra push he needed to leave his house that morning. Little did he know, that was the magical day all the stars aligned and Sahil laid eyes on Natasha for the first time. After that night, he confessed to his friend that he couldn’t stop thinking about her. As their love story continued, the two faced many dragons and a few painfully awkward early dates but Sahil and Natasha kept fighting for their love until 1301 days later, they tied the knot and started their new beginning together as husband and wife. Enjoy this South Asian Wedding of Sahil and Natasha at the largest Sikh Temple in America, the San Jose Gurdwara Sahib....

After filming weddings for over 14 years, I still love and thoroughly enjoy what I do. And, you may be surprised to know, even despite having so much experience, I still get nervous before filming EVERY single wedding. Maybe it’s because I understand that my passion, as a wedding videographer, affects each couple directly. They trust me to to capture their once-in-a-lifetime memories. So I make sure to capture a work of art at each and every wedding. With this wedding, it was no different. The wedding itself was in a way different and unique, but we made sure to approach it thoughtfully. The multicultural couple incorporated their Italian and Indian traditions throughout the 2-day celebration and I wanted to capture the essence of both cultures accordingly. Predictably, I was nervous before filming this wedding but I think my delicate and professional approach is felt throughout this wedding film. What increased the pressure a bit was that I met Bikram and Camila a few years before they reached out to me about their wedding. I filmed Bikram’s sisters wedding a few years back and have met (and filmed) many of their wedding guests’ weddings. It was truly an honor being part of their wedding because it showed me that they continued to trust me and my work. Enjoy this wedding film from Bikram and Camila’s wedding at San Jose Gurdwara and Castlewood Country Club. Read more in depth about this wedding in the full post. ...

We have been filming Indian weddings all over California and United States and we love the challenges each wedding presents us. For instance, at this Indian Wedding, we were challenged to create a beautiful film from just the wedding reception alone that Raj and Pam had in Sacramento one week after their epic wedding on the East Coast. What makes this challenging is that we don't have the wedding content to work with to tell a story. Additionally, we're not able to have the variety of wedding footage that we are used to. Sadly, many wedding videographers would simply "slap" together a simple long and boring video. However, I wanted to approach this a bit more creatively and create an Indian Wedding Reception Highlight Film. I wanted the reception film to have emotions, be epic and have a story. My goal is so when you are done watching the reception wedding film, you have met the beautiful couple and have been at their wedding reception. I believe we pulled this off with this short film from Raj and Pam's wedding reception in Sacramento, California. One of my personal favorite scenes from this film is their first dance before the guests arrived to the reception hall at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento. The couple wanted to see their reception hall full decorated before the guests arrived. More importantly, they wanted to practice their first dance one last time. It's our job, as wedding cinematographers, to capture a story. So me and my team took that opportunity and filmed their special moment as they danced away on the empty reception dance floor. Looking at the footage later, I was please as it gave me some romantic footage that I found fitted perfectly into their film. Raj is an accomplished doctor and it was an honor to be part of their wedding celebration in Raj's home town, Sacramento, CA. So enjoy this Indian Wedding Reception Highlight Film from the heart of California at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento....

I remember visiting the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco a few years ago and imagining how awesome it would be to film a wedding there. The historical architecture and quaint scenery had such a romantic touch. So imagine my eagerness when Amrit (an awesome wedding planner) connected us with Harman and Sonia and told us that the wedding will be at the Fairmont Hotel. I scheduled a call with the couple and made sure that we were the wedding cinematography and wedding photography team to film this beautiful Indian wedding in the lovely city of San Francisco. Though we have filmed numerous Sikh Indian Weddings before and have an outstanding wedding cinematography portfolio under our belt, we still approach every wedding with intentional creativity and attentiveness. Many times before, we have included the reception Grand Entrance into the Same Day Edit, and that on it’s own is very complex. However, I wanted to test our limits a bit further and for this wedding, we wanted to include the First Dance in the video as well. While I was planning it all out beforehand, the pre-filming butterflies and jitters set in. I knew this addition would demand a high-level of coordination and skill but I trusted in my team’s ability. As I looked at the reception itinerary, I figured out that I have only 12 minutes to edit the First Dance into the Same Day Edit before the video was set to play. Luckily, several speeches were scheduled to happen throughout the reception and the wedding planner shifted those speeches around to give me about 22 minutes before go time. Secretly, I was hoping those speakers to give a longer speech but with speeches, the length is usually unpredictable. It turned out, I only got 18 minutes to edit the film, but fortunately, that was plenty of time to work our magic out onto the screen. Not only was I able to include the Grand Entrance but I also edited in the First Dance flawlessly. One of the most humbling and inspiring moments for our team is watching the couple and guests enjoy the...

As wedding videographers, we are thrilled when a couple requests us to travel across the country and capture the big day of their love story. It’s always interesting to see how the town has shaped the couple, especially when the bride and groom come from different cultures. The wedding of Jason and Rupal took place in Little Rock, Arkansas and because it was a Destination Wedding for us (and many of the guests), filming their 3-day wedding was truly a memorable weekend filled with emotional, ethnic, and tender moments. Upon arriving to Little Rock the day before all the festivities began, we spent our first day visiting the historic downtown of this city. We took our drone out and filmed some awesome shots of the city, making sure to capture some patriotic symbols, as we learned the groom was in the military. We met with the bride before the first events, and let me tell you - all the folks who said how sweet she is during their speeches, were not exaggerating one bit. Rupal was so respectful and trusting. She welcomed us with a warm heart, though we never met before. Working with a couple that trusts your skills is so refreshing. It allows us to capture our footage without any reservations and the atmosphere is so pleasant to work in. Read More. ...

We enjoy destination weddings and traveling to tell visual stories from different cultures. The Muslim Wedding of Afeef and Moniza in San Diego, California was no exception. The ceremony was beautiful and cultural, the cocktail hour had tacos (very different) and the reception had churros (not a wedding cake). We loved that touch of uniqueness that Afeef and Moniza applied to their wedding. Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina Hotel is a perfect place to get married. Our San Diego Wedding Cinematography team did an outstanding job capturing this beautiful wedding. Enjoy the Short Film....

Our challenge here was to take our Same Day Edits onto another level – have the Same Day Edit transition into shots that are in REALTIME during the First Dance at the Grand Island Mansion Wedding! We mixed live from our Drone in the sky, Crane camera, Close up camera and Stabilizer camera creating an amazing experience for the wedding couple and party. This was challenging, but we pulled it off seamlessly....

Ronak and Bani blew us away with their Indian/Hindu wedding! We filmed for 5 days in a row, capturing beautiful moments of the culture, the family, and the couple. We literally filmed 2 weddings in 1. Indian Wedding Cinematography is becoming more and more of our speciality. We love setting the bar high and I believe that this cinematic wedding video sets the bar high. Enjoy this short film of a beautiful Indian Wedding....

It’s pretty amazing to see how wedding cinematography has evolved in the last few years. I’ve been filming wedding since 2005 and it’s very exciting to see the evolution of wedding art. Back in the days, things were simple - you took a camera and filmed as much as you can. This was the age of “wedding videography.” In 2008, we witnessed a HUGE change in the wedding industry with the release of the first Full Frame DSLR Canon 5D MK II that recorded video. A camera that immensely redefined filming weddings and created a new “breed” of videographers: Wedding Cinematographers, Wedding Filmmakers, Wedding Storytellers and so on. The quality of wedding videos improved dramatically, the stories improved and the wedding video industry in itself shot up. Take a look how we at Aperina Studios evolved and continued to create the best possible films for each of our couples....

I have been filming weddings for over a decade now but you wouldn't believe the jitters I get the morning before filming a wedding. I still wake up before each wedding nervous and anxious. But, that excitement is even heightened when we plan a complex Same Day Edit that requires our team to be on our toes every second to catch exactly the right moments that will be included in that edit. It's a film that is still in the editing process 15 minutes before "show-time" but we challenge ourselves to include moment like the Grand Entrance and First Dance into the Same Day Edit and show our masterpiece just minutes after it happens. Those 15 minutes are stressful but rewarding when we see the couple thrilled and captivated by what we managed to capture. It's a humbling and rewarding experience for us but more importantly, the bride and groom love seeing the highlights of their day just moments after they occur. See why they loved it! Additionally, there is a deeper look of what goes into filming and editing this Indian Same Day Edit. ...

When we arrived at Greengate Ranch and started filming - we knew that the next 4 days would be a blast. The beautiful couple was full of energy, smiling and enjoying their wedding days. We loved becoming part of the family for a few days to capture the story of Ricky and Preeti! Behind the scenes, working as a cinematographer on this 18 hour wedding day, it was not all fun and games. Even though the wedding was beautiful and fun, it honestly pushed the limits of our team - physically, creatively and emotionally. Some weddings, a beginner can film them (they are simply easy). But this wedding, you had to be a true professional to pull off great footage. I'm a proud that our team did just that. We communicated all day on long range walkie-talkies (this was super important), walked/ran about 9 miles (my fitness tracker can prove that), and best of all, we captured some beautiful footage at this Greengate Ranch Wedding....

Filming a wedding all over California pretty much sums up this wedding. Navkarn, Dilraj and their family challenged all of our team for over 1 week. We travelled to San Diego, back to Sacramento and finally back to San Diego to finish of their wedding reception with a Same Day Edit. It was really a blast and a challenging experience....

This is literally hot off the press. We just premiered it a few hours ago at the wedding reception a few minutes after their GRAND entrance. We literally had a few minutes to edit the grand entrance and the first dance into the same day edit before we had to show it. It was pretty amazing to have a team that was able to pull this off....
