When I first met James and Selina (via Skype), right away I wanted to be their wedding cinematographer! They were a fun and lovely couple - a perfect match. I love what I do. When the couple loves what we do as well, it makes me want to do so much better! That's why we came 1 hour early just to grab a few creative shots of the beautiful Venue. We loved everything about the wedding. The decorations, the flowers, and especially the Bride and Groom! We worked hard all day - telling their story through our cinematography. I hope you enjoy this short film that we have produced from James and Selina’s Wedding. Feel free to leave comments below if you enjoy the film and this amazing couple. With every new couple, we get to experience one of the most amazing days in their life witnessing their love for one another and hearing their story. We are super excited to post their story! Bryan & Zhanna are a lovely couple. Working with them and seeing how they connect with each other was not only joyful but also easy to film and tell their story. Their wedding took place at a beautiful venue in Sacramento, CA - Vizcaya. An antique venue that has character and emotion. I loved it. But enough of me blabbering, enjoy the short film! Five days, endless ceremonies and rituals. We were simply amazed by the beauty and majesty of this Indian Wedding. We have filmed many elaborate and fancy weddings, but nothing comes close to the decadence and attention to detail as an Indian wedding. No wonder it requires not one or two days, but more than five days to fit all the ceremonies and rituals in. For this same day edit, our goal was to make a 3 minute film jam-packed with emotions and stories. We wanted our audience to feel like they were present at all the days of the wedding, knowing everything that went on, even if they were never there. Of course, if they were not there, they were missing out on one heck of a party. Music, dancing, great ethnic food, and a beautiful bride and groom to top things off. We loved filming every aspect of the wedding, especially the reception. It was evident to all, that this couple was truly in love with one another. It was an honor capturing their special bond and being part of their BIG day. The groom's brother, Ankesh, convinced the family that they should hire Aperina Studios over any other Indian wedding videography company as he believed that we will tell the wedding story from a fresh and unique perspective. After the wedding, we had many guests come up encouraging us and telling us that we did an amazing job. It was a humbling experience. Arriving at the Reception venue to edit the Same Day Edit, I already knew that I will need to make it longer than the originally planned 3 minutes. Once again, I edited in Final Cut Pro X, honestly, the best editing software out there. It was flawless and blazing fast! I finished editing a few hours, before out 8pm deadline, So I color graded and even added a few more recent shots into it. It was a blast showing the Same Day Edit wedding to the guesst. And now to you! Enjoy Parminder and Manpreet's Same Day Edit! Capturing weddings during the middle of the week usually means the wedding is going to be small, elegant, and personal. That is exactly how Adrian & Christiana's wedding was. The handsome groom flew in from London. The gorgeous bride flew in from the Caribbean. The groomsman flew in from Sweden and the bridesmaid (with her husband) from Canada. There were a total of five people present at the wedding (six with the officiant). This is exactly how the bride pictured her wedding. We at Aperina Studios came with our four crew members to bring the total number of people to 10. This was the smallest wedding I think we have ever photographed or filmed but we had such an amazing time capturing the intimate, happy time these five best friends were having in the beautiful Madrona Manor in Healdsburg, CA. Carlos and Victoria initially did not want to have video for their wedding. All wedding videos they saw before made them not want one for their wedding, but seeing a Same Day Edit on a friends wedding, they realized that they wanted it too. So they booked me 4 weeks before the wedding with a Same Day Edit. I was excited to do a Same Day Edit for them. I met up with the lovely couple at Starbucks where we talked a little and got to know each other. Listening to their funny story, I realized that their wedding is simply going to be fun and energetic. It was exactly that. I love doing Same Day Edits. They are stressful, they are hard, you get headaches, you barely eat, but best of all - the reactions from the bride, groom and the guests are totally worth it. Because the the morning prep, ceremony and reception were in different location, I was worried that I might not have enough time to edit. I left in the middle of the ceremony to the reception venue - copying cards to my MacBook on my way. Arriving at the beautiful Venue, I got straight to work. I knew that show time was at 9pm and I had less than 4 hours to edit. I simply spent the first 45 min. organizing all the footage. I usually get straight to editing, but I knew that organization will allow me to find shots 4x faster. I was editing away in Final Cut Pro X ( I love FCP X - It did not crash once!). At 8:15, my edit was completed. I set the Same Day Edit to Export, grabbed a camera and helped my team film fire dancers and fireworks. I was excited for show time! At 9:00pm, we dimmed the lights and pressed play! A few seconds into the film, I knew everyone loved it. Especially the bride and groom. I hope you also enjoy it! Remember that this was edited on the wedding day and shown on the wedding reception. It's an awesome experience! ENJOY! Reception: Grand Island Mansion Cinematography: Aperina Studios...

Many times, I want to share my edits right away. I want everyone to see it hot off the press! This film on the other hand, I didn't let myself to share it right after completing it. It felt like it was still a rough draft even though everyone in our office agreed it was ready to post. It felt like an essay that I just wrote and wanted to turn it in for an A+ but knew it was a B- essay. Some filmmakers would settle for an B- film, I didn't want to. I never do. So I spent a few more days tweaking this film and perfecting it. Fixing all the little thing that bothered me and letting my wife critique it. Now I can post it knowing that it's an A+ level film. I love how it turned out after finalizing. We love creating short wedding films. We love telling stories and short films allow us to do exactly that. Enjoy this short film. As a leading Sacramento Video Production company, we loved telling the story of an amazing event in 2013 - Miss Russian California 2013. A week after coming back from filming a documentary in Russia and Ukraine, my brother Paul surprised me with this project  We came a day before the event to "scout the area" and realized that we have a bigger event on hand than thought -  we are going to need a bit more than just 2 cameras. Many times we run into issues where we film a project and then later wish while editing that we had way more camera angels and more creative shots. We didn't want to run into this issue here. So we brought 4 x Canon 5DMIIIs and started filming. We knew we had to make a short 2-4 minute clip out of all the filming, but we also keept in mind that we don't exactly know what we're going to be putting into the film - so we filmed a lot. Telling a story of the event was extremely hard for some reason as so much happened in the 4 hours of filming. I sat days simply looking at the screen and then closing Final Cut Pro with still a blank slate. I restarted the project many times as I didn't find a way to put the story together visually. I set the project aside for a bit and worked on other things. Then one day I found a perfect soundtrack that inspired me to put this project back to life. I licensed the soundtrack and began to work - this time in Adobe Premier CS6. I spent long hours putting this shot film of  Miss Russian California 2013 together. Once I finished it, I sat back and thought - why does it take so long to tell such a short 3 min story of this event? Looking at it, it seems like it took couple hours, but it didn't  ...

When we film weddings it is never surprising to see the couples happy and in love… but to film a 25 year anniversary and to see the couple really happy and in love was amazing! Shooting a wedding or anniversary where the couple vocally and visually expresses love is so amazing because the day is just filled with so much emotions to capture and we just film away. This lovely couple made us feel comfortable during the initial meeting and we bonded right from the beginning. We looked at their wedding video from 25 years ago and laughed at how much things have changed since then in cinematography. We even decided to incorporate it into our film! Prem and Richard had a traditional western ceremony and a Indian part of the ceremony with the colorful costumes, gowns… We enjoyed capturing every bit of this anniversary as there was so much color to capture. At the end of the day, all the older folks showed their moves on the dance floor. I have never seen so much energy from people of this age. It was one amazing anniversary and it gave us some hope of happiness and life even when you are further down your path in age. Enjoy this anniversary film that we created for them recapping the story of their anniversary....

We got an amazing chance to give back to the community and help create a video to help promote Missionary Gospel Church's Ministry. It was definitely a fun and inspiring project.  We spent a bunch of hours filming and then even more hours editing. The idea was to tell the world about the Gospel of Jesus Christ but with a twist. We wanted to include a music video in the end to touch peoples' hearts. I believe it worked! I love this video and hope you will enjoy our music video production. Did you love the song? Download it! I am happy to announce that on July 9, 2011, I married the most beautiful girl in the world, the girl of my dreams. Me and and Ilona fell in love couple years ago while going to the same church. Our relationship grew stronger and our story book became bigger and more interesting. We both wanted to tell/show our love story on our wedding day so our wedding guests would know more about us and our story together. To do that, we created our SDE (Same Day Edit). We are happy to present our SDE to you as well. While watching the SDE, look for the connections we created between our love story and the wedding day. Enjoy our story! While creating this video, Ilona and I thought of our true love story. Heading out to Folsom Lake two weeks before our wedding to film the first part of the video, we both admit, we were a little anxious. The night before, Ilona and I even practiced what we would say and even made a few note cards just in case our minds went blank. We wanted to talk about the time we met, our first date, the oh so romantic proposal, and a few other momentous details that led us up to the day we both say, “I do. On the wedding day, we had our camera crew film specific things to incorporate into the SDE. These small things made me and Ilona unique as a couple and we wanted that to be seen in the video. I looked through computer magazines and Ilona looked through wedding magazines to reveal our interests. The short clip of the bridesmaids cutting out letters in the magazines ties into the last shot, which says, “Vitaliy & Ilona, July 9th, 2011” with the letters that were cut out. We did this to add a crafty touch to the video because of Ilona’s love for scrap-booking. We also took moments from our relationship and made them real again on our wedding day. For example, you will notice that our relationship grew from the day Ilona gave...

End of last week I received a phone call with a big project proposal. But the project didn't fall into my hands so easy. I had to provide some of my work in a short demo clip to the art director. Honestly, I didn't have a demo clip. So next morning, after sunday service, I quickly stopped by Ugol Studios to collect some of my work. Looking through a lot of archive is not easy and picking out something for a 1.5 min demo is difficult. I didn't know what I wanted to include. I've done many short clips, projects, logo sequences, etc. But I grabbed more than I needed just in case. I quickly drove home, grabbed a plate of mashed potatoes and ran to the computer half working half eating. My demo needs to be uploaded by 7:00 pm. It's already 3:30 pm. This demo was fully done in After Effects. Nothing was taking out into Final Cut. Literally, I treated After Effects as a linear editing program. Once everything was done, I was satisfied with what I created in 3.5 hrs. Oh and the clip was online at 6:45 pm. 15 min before the requested time....

Waking up 30 min. before an alarm rings is always a good sign for me in the morning. Especially before a wedding. Getting out of the house dragging all the camera bags behind me, I drove to Irena's house with a weird excitement. I felt that this wedding will be fun, elegant, and dreamy. Arriving at the brides house 10 min early, I began filming. Hair shots, rings shots, dress shots and so on. For make-up we drove out to Roseville Galleria Mall (Nordstrom) where we spent some time filming inside and on the way back I decided to stop by the venue to grab some prep shots that I may use for the film. I was inspired by what kind of shots I was able to grab and realized that even the prep shots write the story of the wedding day. I fell in love with the idea of filming prep shots in the venue and will put all my efforts to try to capture these kind of shots on other weddings as well. Roman and Irena didn't see each other before the wedding so it made it very elegant and emotional in the ceremony when he saw her for the first time in her wedding dress walking slowly down the aisle. The mom wiped her tears away as she gave away her daughter to the man that will be taking care of her baby from now on. Capturing the moments was a challenge outside and I believe we did an amazing job doing just that. The wedding presented itself with it's challenges. The sun hid behind clouds constantly forcing us to adjust our camera settings. However, we managed just fine. After enjoying some delicious food at the reception, we took the bride and groom for a walk on the golf field and that paid of so well that those shots ended up to be some of my favorite from this wedding. I decided to take a different approach in editing and pick a song that didn't have lyrics. It's a very elegant emotional song and it gave me the inspiration needed to put this cinematic teaser...

Many of you have seen the demo that I posted couple days ago. Well the story doesn't stop there. After the leading art director at Opinionaided.com saw the demo, he gave me a nice compliment that if that was compared to an interview, I did well. Humbly, I accepted the compliment and accepted a short project to start my relationship with Opinionaided.com. The staff at the company wanted to create a short demo of their iPhone app but struggled not having the correct expertise. So they turned to me and offered me that small project explaining that this is literally a small part of what is awaiting me having a relationship with their company. I accepted and downloaded/opened up their App on my iphone to play around and learn it. Luckily, it's a very straight forward and simple app made to give opinions in real time. I gave it a try and to my surprise, I've received opinions from people almost instantly after posting a question online. Next day, Oleg (iPhone App developer) called me and said lets start working on the demo video. The connected me with Matt (Art Director) and we started discussing the idea and a bunch of details. 12 hours later they had a 5 second preview of my demo I've started working on. They loved it and that encouraged me to dedicate even more time into it. After three hard days of recording my iPhone screen via an app on my jail-broken iPhone (which you have to jailbreak if you wanna record the iPhone screen)  and drawing finger swipes in After Effects CS5, I had a pre-release version of the demo. After 13 revisions of the video we had a final Opinionaided Demo. Go ahead and view the demo below and after; dont forget to download the app via the app store. view this video on their website here: opinionaided.com/how-to/opinionaided-demo or here: [vimeo id="20942475" width="640" height="360"]   Website: opinionaided.com Twitter: twitter.com/opinionaided My Vimeo link to pre-release: http://vimeo.com/20819567...
