10 Sep Arun & Nishi – Same Day Edit Reveal – Sacramento, California
We have recently been filming more and more Indian weddings and by now we have really fallen in love with their colorful, rich culture. When Arun & Nishi initially met with us and wanted to do a same day edit video for their wedding reception, we were very excited for this challenge. Then they pulled out a little bigger challenge out of their pockets… they wanted us to use the same day edit video to also introduce themselves as husband and wife and reveal their grand entrance in the reception hall to all the onlooking guest. This was somehow suppose to be live! That is when my brother Paul and I sat down with a notepad to brainstorm some creative ideas for this ‘reveal’.
We filmed the Indian music-video part of the video a couple weeks before the wedding and worked our butts off filming and editing this SDE video during the last day of this beautiful 5-day Sikh and Hindu Wedding. I believe the loud applause from the whole reception crowd at the end of the showing of this video means only one thing… Aperina Studios working together as a cinematgoraphy team created another beautiful masterpiece.
My favorite part from this Same Day Edit Reveal, was probably the elevator scene in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sacramento. It caused a sense of discomfort and confusion, yet it allowed the viewer to understand that something big is coming. It was a random idea on the spot while filming a few days prior and I love it! It led perfectly to the reveal of Arun and Nishi as husband and wife at their wedding reception.

We also put together a Reaction-Cam Video in which we show reactions of the crowd and the beautiful couple while the film was being shown at the wedding. These awes, smiles, and applause always remind us of why we do what we love.
